Ceramic Coating Process Sydney

A durable ceramic coating starts with careful inspection, preparation and controlled application. See exactly how Ceramic Pro Sydney prepares, corrects, coats and checks each vehicle.

Why Preparation Determines the Finish

Ceramic coating does not hide swirls, water spots or paint defects. It locks in the finish beneath it, which is why preparation is assessed before any coating bottle is opened.

New cars may still arrive with transport film residue, bonded contamination or light dealership wash marks. Used vehicles can need deeper decontamination and measured paint correction. We recommend only the correction work the paint genuinely requires.

Inspection before recommendation

Vehicle age alone does not determine the preparation. The actual paint condition does.

Our Six-Stage Ceramic Coating Process

Each stage protects the quality of the stage that follows.

01 — Assess

Vehicle inspection

We confirm the paint condition, included surfaces, package, correction needs and expected handover time.

02 — Clean

Wash and decontaminate

Road film is removed before bonded contamination is safely lifted from paint, glass, wheels and trims as required.

03 — Refine

Paint correction

Under specialist lighting, eligible swirls and haze are refined to the level agreed for the vehicle and selected package.

04 — Prepare

Panel preparation

Polishing residue and surface oils are removed so the coating can bond to a clean, stable substrate.

05 — Protect

Ceramic Pro application

The chosen Silver, Gold or ION system is applied methodically to every included surface in the correct sequence.

06 — Verify

Cure and quality control

Coverage, finish and presentation are checked under workshop lighting before final curing guidance and handover.

New Cars and Used Cars Need Different Preparation

A new vehicle usually needs less correction, but it is never assumed to be defect-free. Transport, storage and dealership washing can leave contamination or light marks that should be addressed before coating.

Used paint is assessed for oxidation, wash marring, water spotting, previous repairs and realistic correction potential. Some deeper defects should be preserved rather than chased if correction would remove unnecessary clear coat.

Our recommendation is condition-led. We explain what can be improved, what should remain and how that affects cost and timing before work begins.

What Gets Coated and How Long It Takes

Ceramic Coating Process FAQs

How long does the ceramic coating process take?

Most vehicles are booked for the day. Paint condition, correction, vehicle size, coating system and extra surfaces can change the time, so we confirm it after assessment.

Does a new car need paint correction before coating?

Not always, but every new car is inspected. Light transport or dealership wash marks may benefit from refinement before coating.

Can ceramic coating hide scratches?

No. Coating does not fill or hide meaningful defects. Eligible marks are corrected first where safe and agreed.

When can I wash the car after coating?

Initial cure guidance depends on the system and conditions. We give you the exact waiting period and safe-wash instructions at handover.

Is the work completed at my home?

No. Preparation, lighting, coating application and quality control are completed by appointment at our Five Dock workshop.

Which Ceramic Pro package should I choose?

The right package depends on your vehicle, ownership plans, included surfaces and budget. We compare Silver, Gold and ION without assuming the highest package is necessary.
